Pure Chat earns 4 stars. It's live chat software that's scalable, free, ad-free, robust, and easy to install. This third party software has more features than paid live chat products.

Free, free, free…. Everyone wants something for free and who can blame people for wanting to save money. One of the great things about web development is there’s both inexpensive and free options available for all different types of features. One feature that we continuously get requests for but clients do not want to pay for is “live chat”.

Live chat is a feature that can be placed on your website that allows website visitors to chat with website administrators. Its a great way to get visitors to correspond with you while they are actively on your site. Features like this typically come with a price tag. They can range anywhere from $10 per month to $100 per month. Fortunately for  you, there is a free service for live chat. Pure Chat is a free live chat for websites. Pure Chat is a product of Axosoft, a Scottsdale, Arizona software company. Axosoft deserves kudos for developing a great piece of software and providing it for free

We originally gave Purechat 5 stars however, we have revised our review to 4 starts. It’s live chat software that’s scalable, free, ad-free, robust, and easy to install. This third party software has more features than paid live chat products.

Pure Chat’s features include:

  • multi-language support
  • ad-free
  • multi-user capability
  • mobile app management
  • canned responses
  • transcripts
  • customization
  • simple user management
  • tech support
  • statistics
  • chat button customization
  • desktop notification
  • chat survey/ratings
  • availability status
  • typing indicator
  • operator chat
  • everything but the kitchen sink…

The negative aspect to purchase is that we are unable to toggle off Purechat for users utilizing mobile browsers. Although there may be website owners that wish to keep live chat on when their users are using their phones, we advise against it. Having a user on the phone makes it very easy for them to contact the website owner via click to call numbers or call feature buttons. Live chat can reduce the likelihood of a user making a call and we find that in the instance of Purechat, the chat box gets in the way of call buttons.

Overall, Purechat is still a great free option for live chat. Its free and has a variety of features – Can’t go wrong.
